Battling Bishops Improve Record with Win Over Mary Baldwin

ROCKY MOUNT, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan College Battling Bishops improved their record to 6-6 in the USA South this evening with a 72-35 win over Mary Baldwin in women's basketball.

N.C. Wesleyan jumped out to an 18-11 lead after the first quarter then took control in the next 10 minutes outscoring Mary Baldwin 20-2. The home team continued to roll in the second half. 

The Bishops controlled the lane outrebounding Mary Baldwin 44-32 while scoring 48 points in the paint.

N.C. Wesleyan College was led by Timyra Staton who scored 16 points.  Kechae Parker and Tylecia Williams added 11 each.  Nadiya Holley grabbed 7 rebounds.

Mary Baldwin was led by Khai Davidson and Aayana Nedd who finished with 9 points each.  Davidson also grabbed 10 rebounds while Nicole Blackburn finished with a game-high 12 rebounds.

Mary Baldwin University, 2-21 (0-12 USAS), finish the season on the road this weekend.
